Welcome to our Digging Deeper Blog!
Biblos Foundation is a non-profit organization established to encourage deeper study of the Bible through the lens of Christian Science. We are grateful to expand the focus and mission of Biblos to those who may have the opportunity to teach students more about the Bible. Our prayer is that the desire to study the Bible more deeply will grow on a daily basis
Each week we plan to offer ideas as to how to study the weekly Bible Lesson more deeply, and how to share what is being learned. To make it easier to navigate, we have color-coded it!
CITATIONS IN THIS WEEK’S BIBLE LESSON:
At the beginning of each week, we will send an email highlighting what the blog’s specific focus is for that week — based on a particular citation(s) from that week’s Bible Lesson.
Next, we will offer some questions relevant to the citation(s) to think about and possibly ask students to consider as well.
DIGGING DEEPER DISCUSSION:
Then we will share some ideas on how to study the citation(s) more in depth, through Hebrew and Greek vocabulary words, connections to the Old/New Testaments, or insights from Bible scholars, etc.
LENS OF CHRISTIAN SCIENCE:
This section might include articles from the Christian Science periodicals and/or quotations from Mary Baker Eddy or other Christian Science workers in our movement relevant to the citation(s) being discussed.
In this section we will offer possible resources to use from the Biblos Foundation website: short clips from audio talks and/or videos, study packets available to members, sample audio clips from eCourses, charts, timelines, etc.
This section includes Flashcards and FlashFacts –
We will define the books of the Bible mentioned in the blog.
VOCABULARY (GREEK & HEBREW):
We will define the Greek and/or Hebrew definition of key words referenced in the bible citations of each blog post.
RECOMMENDED FOR BIBLE STUDY:
At times we will suggest sources for Bible study – books, dictionaries, commentaries, websites, etc.
Mainly along the right column, we will post pictures relevant to the blog discussion – locations in the Holy Land, art paintings, etc.
We hope readers of the blog will find these offerings helpful in their study of the Scriptures.
